JODI: Russia remains world's 2nd largest oil producer in Aug

MOSCOW, Oct 18 (PRIME) -- Russia retained its position of the world’s second largest oil producer after the U.S. in August, when its output grew by 1.1% on the month to 9.944 million barrels per day, the Joint Organizations Data Initiative (JODI) said in a report on Monday.

The U.S. produced 11.181 million barrels per day, a fall by 1.1%. The output of Saudi Arabia, which was number three, rose by 0.9% to 9.562 million barrels per day.

Russia’s oil processing rose by 5.4% on the month to 5.985 million barrels per day in August.
